Children are an integral part of our church family and as we gather together on a Sunday morning they join in our gathered worship of the Lord through song, prayer, and learning from His word. We have 3 groups that cater specifically to children in the latter part of the service where they can do this in a more age-accessible environment.
Crèche
For the youngest in our church family, crèche is a time to play, read stories, and have a short Bible story and sing some songs.
Scramblers
This group runs in the same room as crèche and so toddlers generally integrate themselves when they're ready for a slightly more formal teaching environment, and runs up until children start primary school. We're currently working our way through the Beginners Bible with lots of interactive teaching and crafts.
Sunday School
Sunday School is for primary-aged children, takes place in the manse, just down the road from the service. Together we learn about Jesus and what it means to follow Him through a mixture of Old and New Testament books and occasionally with a thematic series.
While many of our families make full use of these groups, others choose to remain together for the duration of the service, and some do a mix of both. All are warmly welcome.
From S1, children stay in for the sermon. Some of our teenagers find it helpful to have a script of the sermon ahead of time to help them to listen and engage. If you would like to receive this, please contact Stephen (stephen@standrewsfreechurch.co.uk). If you have any questions about our children’s ministry, please don't hesitate to get in touch with our children’s coordinator, Catherine (catherine@standrewsfreechurch.co.uk).
Our children's groups run on a rota of volunteers. All of our volunteers have completed our safe recruitment process and are committed to following our safeguarding policy.
If you have any questions or concerns relating to safeguarding don't hesitate to get in touch with our Safeguarding Coordinators (safeguarding@standrewsfreechurch.co.uk).
